In November 2005, just before the holidays, I had
just recently had a baby, so we all know where I am
going with this story. Yes, I had gained an additional
40 pounds, and my self esteem had gone right out the
window. You see I was a perfect size 6 when I found
out I was pregnant and to go from that size to a size
16, well I was literally crying every time I got dressed,
passed a full length mirror, etc. So I decided to join
a gym (something I never had to do in my life) and that
is when I found my savior and friend Chanel, she weighed
me, measured me and checked my fat content (which I
had plenty of...). Well to say the least within a week
of speaking to Chanel at the gym, I had decided I needed
someone there with me to walk me through this time in
my life and help show me how to get my body back to
the way it was before. She guided me in the right direction,
showed me everything I needed to know and she was there
to guide me and support my efforts, no matter how much
I whined and complained (and I did do a lot of whining),
she never gave up on me. Well, 6 weeks later I went
from 175 pounds to 155 pounds. At first I didn't see
results, but one day I tried on what I call my transition
jeans I had bought before I started the gym and they
were too big. I had moved DOWN 2 sizes. This time when
I shed a tear, it was because I was happy. Well, it
has been a month now since then and I am now down to
148 pounds and still following everything Chanel has
taught me. I still have 8 more pounds, but the one thing
I haven't been able to do since I was 5 months pregnant
is wear my wedding band, I can happily say thanks to
Chanel, I can wear that again too. Once when I was younger,
I heard my grandmother say something that didn't make
sense to me then, but now that I am older it does, she
said "It takes a week to make a habit, but it takes
a lifetime to break it". So when you feel like
there is no light at the end of the tunnel (and you
will), you just need to get yourself up off the couch
and do something about it. I did and I am so thankful,
because I met Chanel and she changed my life. Not only
that, she has my family eating better too! Oh does anyone
need some size 16 jeans? Thanks Chanel for all your
efforts, I now purposely walk passed mirrors to see

"Exercise does matter"
In late August during a routine physical, I was diagnosed
borderline diabetic. What does it mean to be borderline
diabetic? It means my numbers were on the concern line,
spiking upwards from one physical to the next. Being
a young 53 year old Afro American male, it is not uncommon
to become a diabetic with hypertension and high cholesterol
with minimum symptoms so mild that they are passed off
as getting tired or just having a bad day. To my utter
surprise my numbers indicated something different: Glucose
6.7, after diet and exercise 3.4. All other ranges were
cut in half after diet and a daily exercise program
designed by Chanel. Her dedication to team Reed proved
to be just what the Doctor ordered. In recent days with
extensive travel both business and pleasure over the
past 6 weeks my workout's have suffered, but not my
determination to remain medication free. It is with
faith, diet and exercise that you can be medication

Before I started my exercise program, I was in
the mindset that I could never restore my body to the
point of feeling good about me. Since I have started
working with Chanel, she has shown me that it is possible
to have that exhilarating and refreshing feeling once
again. I am convinced that exercise restores my body
to a healthier me as well as relieves me of the “everyday”
stress and strain. Not only is my body beginning to
take a different form for the better, but I am building
endurance each and every day which I thought was impossible.
Simply put. . . I thought I would never be able to say
that I jogged a quarter of a mile, but I did. It may
not be much, but there was a time I was not able to
run for a minute. Just four weeks ago, I thought I was
dying by having to go up and down the steps in my basement,
and now I can do it without being so winded. Chanel
has jumpstarted me to a healthier and more happier me.
She constantly and consistently discusses my daily meals,
and although I have not recorded my eating habits the
way I should, Chanel is always providing insight and
giving pointers for healthy snacks and meals. Anyone
that thinks they’re at a point of no return should
think again, because you can return your “Temple”
to a refreshing you. My motto is to “Get a Healthy

"I have been training with Chanel (off and
on) for a year now. She is great to train with and can
help you achieve your goal(s) if YOU are totally committed.
The process for me has been very slow for a number of
reasons. I don't eat the way I should, I don't exercise
the way I should and I don't train with her as consistent
or often as I should. Despite these challenges, I can
still tell a difference in the way some of my clothes
fit. There were and still are a few days when I want
to call Chanel and say, let's skip my session this week.
